Volleyball Recap: Jesuit Wins High-Profile Matchup Against Gilbert Christian

Jesuit is ranked highly in their home state and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Gilbert Christian. The Crusaders came out on top against the Knights by a score of 2-0.

Jesuit can attribute much of their success to Kiana Johnson, who had 13 digs and three assists. That's the most digs Johnson has posted over her last six contests. Zola Zuccolo also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Despite the loss, Gilbert Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Shay Loth had 14 digs and two assists.

Jesuit's victory bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Gilbert Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 17-4.

Jesuit wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Santa Margarita on the 27th. As for Gilbert Christian, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against JSerra Catholic on the 26th.
