Recap: Gaithersburg Trojans vs. Poolesville Falcons
The Gaithersburg Trojans suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 53-32 walloping at the hands of Poolesville. Gaithersburg has not had much luck with Poolesville recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Poolesville was led to victory by Kate Dacanay and Breanna Salovich. Dacanay scored nine points along with four steals, while Salovich dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Salovich pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Sofelkanik Laney, who scored six points.
Gaithersburg has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Poolesville, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
Gaithersburg's road trip will continue as they head out to face Poolesville on January 19th. Poolesville won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Gaithersburg on January 19th.
