Baseball Recap: Riverdale Takes a Loss

Riverdale blew Mendota out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Saturday Mendota got their revenge. The Rams fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 3-1. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Riverdale saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Nadolson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Riverdale has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Mendota, their win bumped their record up to 7-5-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverdale will welcome Orion at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Chargers will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Rams surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mendota, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Kewanee at 4:30 p.m. The Trojans are facing the Boilermakers at the right time seeing as the Boilermakers are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
