Athens came out on top against Russellville on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run second inning. The Golden Eagles took their game against the Tigers 6-2. The Golden Eagles haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Athens' victory bumped their record up to 25-16-1. As for Russellville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 25-26-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Athens will head out to take on Muscle Shoals at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Russellville, they will take on West Point in a tournament on Monday.
