Volleyball Game Preview: Girard Indians vs. Elyria Catholic Panthers

The Girard Indians will head out on the road to square off against the Elyria Catholic Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Girard can't be too worried about heading out to take on Elyria Catholic: they just beat Columbiana at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. The Indians came out on top against the Clippers by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Indians.

Girard was especially dominant in the fourth set. The final score came out to 25-19, 20-25, 25-19, 25-15.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Panthers on Tuesday. Elyria Catholic put the hurt on Manchester with a sharp 3-0 victory.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Elyria Catholic was: they took every set by at least 14 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-9, 25-10.

Girard's record now sits at 9-15. As for Elyria Catholic, their record is now 21-2.

Girard might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Elyria Catholic when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Indians avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
