Softball Recap: Friday's Win Is Gunderson's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

While Gunderson put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Hill. The Grizzlies blew past the Falcons 10-0. Considering the Grizzlies have won eight contests by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Talia Abuhamid, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Ocanas, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Gunderson is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Hill, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Gunderson is set to square off against their familiar foe Overfelt at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in the Grizzlies' favor as the squad sits on 11 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Royals have been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road. Meanwhile, Hill will face off against rival Independence at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
