Basketball Recap: Deer Isle-Stonington Takes a Loss

Deer Isle-Stonington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 32nd straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 74-11 loss at the hands of the Bangor Christian Patriots. While losing is never fun, the Mariners can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 130th, while the Patriots are ranked 40th).

Deer Isle-Stonington's record is now 0-18. As for Bangor Christian, they pushed their record up to 13-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Deer Isle-Stonington won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Narraguagus at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Deer Isle-Stonington is facing Narraguagus at the right time seeing as Narraguagus is stuck on a five-game losing streak. Bangor Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
