Basketball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for STX

STX waltzed into their game on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They walked away with a 56-43 win over the West Texas T Tornadoes.

STX's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lucian Lopez, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. What's more, Lopez also posted a 75% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Carlos Carlin, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 15 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals.

STX smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in five consecutive matchups.

STX's victory bumped their record up to 17-12. As for West Texas T, their loss dropped their record down to 12-5.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Abilene H the next time they take the court. STX will host Abilene H at 3:35 p.m. on Thursday, while West Texas T will play them later in the day, at 11:15 a.m.
