Baseball Recap: Lincoln Southwest Comes Up Short

After flying high against Kearney on Monday, Lincoln Southwest came back down to earth. The Silver Hawks lost 12-5 to the Creighton Prep Junior Jays on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Silver Hawks in their meetings with the Junior Jays: they've now lost three in a row.

Lincoln Southwest saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joaquin Olivas, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Lincoln Southwest's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Creighton Prep, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-11.

Coming up, Lincoln Southwest will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Grand Island at 4:30 p.m. The Silver Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Islanders have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Creighton Prep, they will face off against Bellevue West at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
