Game recap: Sherman High School Football Team tops Royse City

After taking the lead on a kick return touchdown by Jordan Hume in the first quarter, Sherman (Texas) led 42-14 at the half.

Each side put up seven points during the third quarter, and the fourth quarter began with the margin still at 28.

Dru Smith was the top performer for the Bearcats. The senior quarterback ran for one touchdown.

Royse City (Texas)'s Jackson Watts played well. The junior quarterback threw three touchdowns and ran for one touchdown.

Sherman also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 59-36.



With the win SHS extended its winning streak to four games.

Sherman (6-1) goes up against Lovejoy in a 4A Region II District 13 game matchup next week, while Royse City (1-6) locks horns with Wylie East also in a 4A Region II District 13 game.
