Baseball Recap: South Lyon Has No Trouble Against Mott

South Lyon got themselves on the board against Mott on Tuesday, but Mott never followed suit. They blew past the Corsairs 10-0. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won five matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Jack Cumberland looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, South Lyon got a massive performance out of Luke Stevens, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Sam Stoll, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

South Lyon is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for Mott, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

South Lyon will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Corsairs: the pair will be back at it again later today.
