Basketball Recap: Bourgade Catholic Comes Up Short

Bourgade Catholic was the 44-36 winner over Show Low when they last played one another back in February of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Bourgade Catholic Golden Eagles took a blow against the Show Low Cougars on Thursday, falling 69-12. While losing is never fun, the Golden Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 210th, while the Cougars are ranked 46th).

It was another big night for Raquel Wilson, who went 8 of 12 en route to 19 points along with six boards and four steals for Show Low. Wilson's afternoon made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylee Boyce, who posted six points along with five boards and three steals.

Bourgade Catholic is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5. As for Show Low, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.

Bourgade Catholic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 53-21 defeat against Coconino on the 13th. As for Show Low, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 50-38 win against Valley Christian on the 13th.
