Preview: Defiance Bulldogs vs. Paulding Panthers
The Defiance Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Paulding Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Saturday, Defiance suffered a tough 56-31 loss at the hands of Findlay. Defiance has struggled against Findlay recently, as their match on Saturday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Paulding's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 54-27 defeat at the hands of Liberty Center. Paulding was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-10.
Paulding's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Tori Schlatter, who scored nine points along with four steals, and Kayleigh Dunham who scored four points.
Defiance's loss dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Paulding, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.
Everything went Defiance's way against Paulding in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as Defiance made off with a 69-45 victory. Does Defiance have another victory up their sleeve, or will Paulding turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
