Baseball Recap: Burley Comes Up Short

If Burley was feeling good fresh off their 11-1 takedown of Idaho Falls on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Burley Bobcats lost 15-7 to the Idaho Falls Tigers on Saturday. The Bobcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 11-1.

Burley saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ike Redder, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI and two doubles. The dominant performance gave Redder a new career-high in doubles. Jake Redder was another, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Burley's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Idaho Falls, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-2.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Burley Bobcats face off against Borah Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Idaho Falls, they will host Kuna at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kuna is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
