Recap: Columbia Eagles vs. Redan Raiders
The Columbia Eagles had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 38-6 victory over Redan. The result was nothing new for Columbia, who have now won four contests by 25 points or more so far this season.
Columbia got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jadan Baugh out in front who gained 142 total yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Cameron Graves, who threw for 183 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.
Columbia's win was their fourth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 6-3. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9-1 Towers and 2-6 Eagle's Landing Christian Academy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 27.2% over those games). As for Redan, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
Columbia will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Towers at 7:30 p.m. on November 3rd. As for Redan, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Landmark Christian at 7:00 p.m. Landmark Christian comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
