Cherokee entered their tilt with Hayesville on Saturday with ten consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with 11. They took their game with ease, bagging a 63-24 victory over the Hayesville Yellowjackets. Given the Braves' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 227th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cherokee's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joscelyn Stamper, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten boards. Stamper has been hot recently, having also posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Cecily 'Dvdaya' Swimmer, who posted 17 points and three steals.

Despite the loss, Hayesville still got an impressive performance from Mallory Peck, who scored six points and six rebounds.

Cherokee pushed their record up to 22-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.4 points over those games. As for Hayesville, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-11.

Cherokee and Hayesville are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Cherokee will be playing at home against Bradford Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cherokee knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 contests -- so hopefully Bradford Prep likes a good challenge. As for Hayesville, they will venture away from home to square off against Jackson Day at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jackson Day is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59 points per game this season.
