Softball Recap: Simeon Gets the Win

The matchup between Simeon and Morgan Park on Tuesday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Wolverines came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 18-13. Considering the Wolverines' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Mia Holcombe was a standout: she scored three runs and stole ten bases while going 2-for-4. Those ten stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Ariyah Black was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, eight stolen bases, and three RBI.

Simeon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Morgan Park only posted a batting average of .034.

Simeon's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3.

They will have a chance to go back-to-back against Morgan Park: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
