Softball Recap: Chicopee Comp's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Chicopee Comp waltzed into their game on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top against the Northampton Blue Devils by a score of 11-8. The Colts have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Blue Devils, too.

Chicopee Comp got a massive performance out of Olivia Cruz, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave Cruz a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aleysha Ramos, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Chicopee Comp was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .371 or higher in five consecutive matchups.

The victory got Chicopee Comp back to even at 9-9. As for Northampton, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Chicopee Comp will venture away from home to square off against East Longmeadow at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Northampton, they will square off against Minnechaug Regional at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
