Caney Valley entered their tilt with Humboldt on Friday with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. They came out on top against the Humboldt Cubs by a score of 64-55. For the Bullpups, this counts as revenge for the 67-47 victory the Cubs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Humboldt still got an impressive performance from Colden Cook, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. Cook's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Tre Franklin was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Caney Valley pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.0 points over those games. As for Humboldt, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 13-3.

Coming up, Caney Valley will head out to face off against Cherryvale on Tuesday. One thing working in Caney Valley's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten matches. As for Humboldt, they will be playing at home against Neodesha on Tuesday. Humboldt is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.6 points per game this season.
