Basketball Recap: Soddy Daisy Takes a Loss

Soddy Daisy entered their matchup against Red Bank on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Soddy Daisy Trojans lost 66-44 to the Red Bank Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-53 back in January.

Red Bank's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaylen Rice led the charge by going 9 of 11 to rack up 19 points. Rice is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last five games he's played. Kobey Jones was another key player, going 5 for 8 en route to 16 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists.

Soddy Daisy's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Red Bank, they pushed their record up to 19-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Soddy Daisy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-44 loss against East Hamilton on the 4th. As for Red Bank, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 80-45 win against Ooltewah on the 6th.
