Baseball Recap: Lassen Triumphs

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Lassen walked away with it. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Yreka Miners on Tuesday. The Grizzlies haven't had any issues with the Miners recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Jaxon George spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Lassen is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 10-11 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Connor Kirack, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Peyton Garate was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Lassen's victory bumped their record up to 18-11. As for Yreka, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 12-14 record.

Coincidentally, Lassen and Yreka will both be playing West Valley the next time they take the field. The Miners will head out to face the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Grizzlies will head out to face them on Saturday.
