Baseball Recap: Fairview Continues Road Dominance on Thursday

Fairview got themselves on the board against Hicksville on Thursday, but Hicksville never followed suit. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Aces. The Apaches might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

Anthony Singer was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. Those doubles were his first of the season.

In other batting news, Fairview got a big performance out of Drayden Grinnell-Dennis, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Cole Mack, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.

Fairview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hicksville only posted a batting average of .000.

Fairview pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Hicksville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

Looking ahead, Fairview will venture away from home to face off against Edon at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bombers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Apaches surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hicksville, they will welcome Bryan at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
