Basketball Game Preview: Independence Knights vs. Anna Coyotes

The Independence Knights and the Anna Coyotes will round out the year against one another at at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Friday, Independence didn't have quite enough to beat Memorial and fell 55-52. The Knights have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Anna, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They took down Greenville 73-55 on Friday.

Anna's win came from a few key players Independence will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Lamin Foon, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Smith, who posted ten points.

Anna was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February.

Anna pushed their record up to 6-11 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points per game. As for Independence, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.

Independence beat Anna 59-51 when the teams last played back in November. Will Independence repeat their success, or does Anna have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
