KIPP Navigate College Prep barely beat Stratford Prep the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers blew past the Lions 3-0 on Wednesday.
KIPP Navigate College Prep got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 30-28, 25-23, 25-12.
Natasha Isidro was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had ten digs and two aces.
They weren't the only good servers: KIPP Navigate College Prep was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 20 aces. They served ten more aces than Stratford Prep's also-impressive total of ten.
Meanwhile, The Kehillah School hadn't done well against Mid-Peninsula recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Rams had just enough and edged out the Dragons 3-2.
The Kehillah School found their leader in sophomore Niksa Sheikh-Bahaei, who had nine kills, eight aces, and three digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kishi Towfiq, who had seven kills, four aces, three digs, and one block.
KIPP Navigate College Prep's win bumped their record up to 14-2. As for The Kehillah School, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Monday's contest: KIPP Navigate College Prep has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 21.6 aces per game. However, it's not like The Kehillah School struggles in that department as they've been averaging 21.4 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
KIPP Navigate College Prep was able to grind out a solid win over The Kehillah School in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
