Basketball Recap: DePaul Cristo Rey vs. Gamble Montessori Gators
DePaul Cristo Rey lost against the Gamble Montessori Gators back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. DePaul Cristo Rey took a serious blow against the Gators, falling 62-28. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points DePaul Cristo Rey has scored all season.
DePaul Cristo Rey lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Britain Starks, who scored ten points. That was a full 35.7% of DePaul Cristo Rey's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
DePaul Cristo Rey has not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Gamble Montessori, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-3.
DePaul Cristo Rey will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Finneytown is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. As for Gamble Montessori, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Nighthawks at 7:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Cincinnati Country Day is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
