Basketball Recap: Gloucester County Christian Skates Past Calvary Academy with Ease

Gloucester County Christian won the last time they faced Calvary Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Gloucester County Christian Conquerors breezed by the Calvary Academy Warrior to the tune of 55-19. The Conquerors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 22 points or more this season.

Gloucester County Christian was led to victory by Nina Mason and Angela Karamisakis. Mason went 7 of 12 en route to 20 points and six steals, while Karamisakis posted 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Mason has scored at least a third of Gloucester County Christian's points. Layla Forbes also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Gloucester County Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Calvary Academy only posted four assists.

Despite the loss, Calvary Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Zoe Troy put up six points and ten boards. Those ten rebounds gave Troy a new career-high.

Gloucester County Christian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.6 points per game. As for Calvary Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
