Basketball Game Preview: Silver Lake Mustangs vs. Kenesaw Blue Devils

Silver Lake hasn't had much luck against Kenesaw recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Silver Lake Mustangs will face off against the Kenesaw Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, Silver Lake strolled past Lawrence-Nelson with points to spare, taking the game 45-28. The Mustangs pushed the score to 38-18 by the end of the third, a deficit the Raiders cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, Kenesaw was able to grind out a solid win over Deshler on Thursday, taking the game 51-39.

Silver Lake better keep an eye on Jravin Suck. He was instrumental in Kenesaw's win, almost dropping a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. What's more, Suck also racked up four assists, the most he's had since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Maddox Wagoner, who posted 11 points.

Kenesaw smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 14 consecutive games.

Silver Lake has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.6 points per game. As for Kenesaw, their victory bumped their record up to 11-6.

Silver Lake came up short against Kenesaw when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 41-37. Can Silver Lake avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
