Football Recap: New Braunfels Thunder Homeschool vs. Annapolis Christian Academy Warriors
New Braunfels Thunder and Annapolis Christian Academy squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but New Braunfels Thunder had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Annapolis Christian Academy Warriors on the road and fell 61-12. The Homeschool were red-hot offensively headed into the contest (they scored no less than 31 points in the three matchups prior) but the Warriors' defense proved too tough.
Despite the loss, New Braunfels Thunder saw an underclassman step up: sophomore John Kroesche rushed for 117 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. Kroesche's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 117 rushing yards.
Annapolis Christian Academy had a senior duo take command as Chuck Brushe rushed for 52 yards and a touchdown on only five carries and Jacob Segundo gained 121 total yards and three touchdowns. What's more, Segundo also racked up 99 rushing yards, the most he's had since back in August of 2023.
New Braunfels Thunder moved to 9-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Annapolis Christian Academy, the win for them keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
