Softball Recap: Northside - Pinetown Makes It Three in a Row at Home

After losing to Ayden - Grifton the last time they met, Northside - Pinetown decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Northside - Pinetown Panthers walked away with a 6-1 win over the Ayden - Grifton Chargers on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Londyn Keech spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Northside - Pinetown let Megan Hopkins and Kinsey White run wild. Hopkins went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double, while White scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Sophia Berry, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Northside - Pinetown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ayden - Grifton only posted a batting average of .250.

Northside - Pinetown's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Ayden - Grifton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Coming up, Northside - Pinetown will be playing in front of their home fans against Bear Grass Charter at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Ayden - Grifton, they will head out to take on West Craven at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be West Craven's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
