Softball Recap: Douglas Byrd Takes a Loss

Douglas Byrd was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 29th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Gray's Creek Bears, falling 21-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-0 back in March.

Douglas Byrd's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Gray's Creek, they pushed their record up to 15-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Douglas Byrd will venture away from home to take on Cape Fear at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Colts have averaged an impressive 13.2 runs per game this season. As for Gray's Creek, they will host Lumberton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pirates have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
