Clinton-Massie dropped their record down to 6-3 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bellbrook Golden Eagles. If the Falcons were looking for revenge after losing 16-5 to the Golden Eagles when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Karley Goodin made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalli Jodrey, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
As for Bellbrook, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-8. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games.
On Bellbrook's side, Chasidy Stewart (OH Christian) made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. Stewart (OH Christian) was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Kelsey Kenney (2027) and Kori Place (2026) did most of the damage at the plate: Kenney (2027) went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Place (2026) went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Place (2026) has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Taitum Savey (2025), who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clinton-Massie will face off against Western Brown at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Bellbrook, they will square off against Ross at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Golden Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
