Basketball Game Preview: East Rutherford Cavaliers vs. Northwest Cabarrus Trojans

The East Rutherford Cavaliers and the Northwest Cabarrus Trojans will round out the year against one another at at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. East Rutherford is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Last Saturday, East Rutherford was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 74-70 to Shelby.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jj Arrowood, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 boards. That's the most points he has posted since back in January. Andre Staley was another key player, going 5 for 12 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, East Rutherford smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Northwest Cabarrus came up short against Butler on Saturday and fell 51-41. The contest marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Northwest Cabarrus and nudges their season record down to 6-4. As for East Rutherford, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.
