Softball Recap: Morgan Township Comes Up Short

After flying high against Victory Christian Academy on Tuesday, Morgan Township came back down to earth. The Cherokees fell just short of the Andrean Fighting 59ers by a score of 8-7 on Thursday. If the Cherokees were looking for revenge after losing 7-4 to the Fighting 59ers when the teams met back in March of 2021, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Morgan Township has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Andrean, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-4.

Coming up, Morgan Township will challenge Washington Township at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Andrean, they will take on Lafayette Central Catholic at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in the Fighting 59ers' favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while the Knights have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
