Recap: Marietta Indians vs. Byng Pirates
The Marietta Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight defeat. They were beaten by Byng 85-57. While losing is never fun, Marietta can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 364th, while Byng is ranked 57th).
Despite the loss, Marietta still got an impressive performance from Aedan Ellison, who dropped a double-double on 38 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ellison has scored all season.
Marietta has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. As for Byng, they pushed their record up to 16-7 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
Marietta will head out on the road to face off against Plainview at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Marietta is facing Plainview at the right time seeing as Plainview is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Byng, they will be playing at home against Madill at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Byng has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 495 points over their last six matches.
