Football Recap: Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Victorious

Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by 40) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won a contest that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Montello Hilltoppers 27-26. The win almost wasn't to be: the Resorters were down 26-12 in the third quarter.

A big part of Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah's victory came down to the chemistry between Cole Wagner and his top target Trayden Rebedew. Wagner threw for 276 yards and two TDs while Rebedew picked up 206 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Rebedew showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 55 yards.

Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Montello, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah will challenge rival St. John's Northwestern Military Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Montello is set to face off against their familiar foe Wayland Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
