Baseball Recap: Kearsley Comes Up Short

Kearsley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Linden Eagles. That's two games in a row now that the Hornets have lost by exactly four runs.

Brady Messenger made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. Kolt Kelley also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Kearsley's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Linden, the victory snapped their losing streak at nine games and leaves them with a 2-11 record.

While Kearsley had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
