Soccer Game Preview: Hoover vs. Roosevelt

For the first time this season, Hoover will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will be playing at home against the Roosevelt Rough Riders at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hoover's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for 13 straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

On Wednesday, Hoover didn't have quite enough to beat Firebaugh and fell 2-1.

Meanwhile, Roosevelt kept a clean sheet against San Joaquin Memorial on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Panthers. The victory continues a trend for Roosevelt in their matchups with San Joaquin Memorial: they've now won four in a row.

Roosevelt now has a winning record of 5-4-5. As for Hoover, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.

Hoover couldn't quite get it done against Roosevelt in their previous matchup back in January of 2025 as they fell 3-1. Can the Patriots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
