Basketball Recap: Mt. Pleasant Extends Road Winning Streak to 11

Mt. Pleasant entered their tilt with Marshall on Friday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Everything went their way against the Marshall Mavericks as they made off with a 66-44 victory. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Mavericks are ranked 852nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mt. Pleasant pushed their record up to 21-4 with the win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Marshall, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-19 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Jacksonville the next time they take the court. Mt. Pleasant will host Jacksonville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Marshall will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st.
