Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Mcclave

McClave entered their tilt with Fowler on Saturday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Fowler Grizzlies by a score of 55-47.

McClave's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tuff Kelley, who almost dropped a triple-double with 12 points, 20 rebounds, and nine blocks. Kelley is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last 12 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jr. Mungaray, who went 5 of 9 en route to 14 points and eight rebounds.

McClave smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Despite the loss, Fowler still got an impressive performance from Isaiah Montoya, who posted 18 points and five steals. The dominant performance gave Montoya a new career-high in steals. Brock True also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

McClave's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-2. As for Fowler, they suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 10-5.

McClave and Fowler should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings. McClave will challenge Swink at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday up 231 places (57 vs. 288). McClave is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.9 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Fowler (ranked 149th) will meet Rocky Ford (ranked 320th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
