Basketball Recap: Carroll County Panthers vs. Owen County Rebels
It was a good run, but the Carroll County Panthers unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They took a serious blow against Owen County, falling 72-30. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Carroll County in their matchups with the Rebels: they've now lost nine in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Carroll County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Grayson Kinman. Despite the final result, he scored 13 points. Braden Stephenson was another key contributor, scoring four points.
Carroll County's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-11. As for Owen County, they pushed their record up to 13-8 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carroll County's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Wildcats at 8:00 p.m. on February 1st. Gallatin County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 430 points over their last six games. As for Owen County, they will head out on the road to face off against the Bearcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
