Recap: Chase Kats vs. Fairfield Falcons
The Chase Kats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 42-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fairfield. Chase lost against Fairfield in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 52-20 score last time.
Fairfield's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mikayla Pugh, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Pugh has scored at least 25% of Fairfield's points. Another player making a difference was Erin Schwertfeger, who scored 11 points along with 6 rebounds.
Chase's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-3. As for Fairfield, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chase will take on Stafford at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Stafford focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Monday. As for Fairfield, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Classical on Tuesday.
