Baseball Game Preview: Notre Dame Prep Saints vs. Silo Rebels

The Notre Dame Prep Saints will be taking part in a tournament against the Silo Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Notre Dame Prep's tournament run continued when they took on Rock Canyon on Tuesday. Notre Dame Prep fell just short of Rock Canyon by a score of 6-4.

Trystan Swayda was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Notre Dame Prep saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaxson Baxter, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. Brayden Higby was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Silo fell victim to Cactus Shadows and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 10-0 to the Falcons. The Rebels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Notre Dame Prep's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Silo, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
