Softball Recap: Lab Museum United Wins Going Away Against Norman Thomas

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lab Museum United). They blew past the Norman Thomas Tigers 28-5 on Thursday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded Lab Museum United with their most commanding win of the season.

Dahlia Legendre made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, five runs, and six RBI while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Lab Museum United got a massive performance out of Jane Rosenthal, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Delilah Rabin, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Lab Museum United was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Lab Museum United's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 21.0 runs over those games. As for Norman Thomas, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.
