Baseball Recap: North Valley Christian Academy Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Chandler Prep, North Valley Christian Academy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Kingman Academy Tigers 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lions have posted since March 29th.

Brayden Collins made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI. He has become a key player for North Valley Christian Academy: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least three RBI, but 5-14-1 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Levi Corrigan, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs. He is becoming a predictor of North Valley Christian Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-2 (and 3-13-1 when he doesn't).

North Valley Christian Academy's record now sits at 9-15-1. As for Kingman Academy, their record is now 8-12-1.

Coming up, North Valley Christian Academy will face off against Pima at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kingman Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
