Cornerstone Christian waltzed into their matchup on Friday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They walked away with a 75-65 victory over the Victoria East Titans. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Titans are ranked 565th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cornerstone Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mackenzie Bailey, who almost dropped a double-double on 26 points and nine boards. Those 26 points gave Bailey a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Yasmeen Schmidt, who posted 30 points and seven rebounds.

Cornerstone Christian is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season. As for Victoria East, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-6.
