Softball Recap: Whitko Has No Trouble Against Huntington North

Whitko hadn't beaten Huntington North on the road since April 8, 2015 but that history sure didn't bother them on Thursday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Vikings. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 10-0 victory the Vikings walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2023.

Addie Garr was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, one triple, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Isabelle Harman was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. She also got a hit, marking her first of the season. Kaylee Adkins was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Whitko always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for Whitko and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Whitko didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 23-0 defeat against Columbia City on the 14th. As for Huntington North, they have also already played their next contest, a 21-0 loss against Mishawaka on the 12th.
