Softball Game Preview: Pine Prairie Panthers vs. Bunkie Panthers

Pine Prairie will head out on the road to challenge Bunkie at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pine Prairie is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Pine Prairie is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against St. Edmund on Monday as they made off with an 11-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won three games by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Jolie West, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those runs were her first of the season. Cheyanne Maricle was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

Meanwhile, Bunkie came up short against Natchitoches Central on Saturday and fell 8-3. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bunkie saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Webb, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Pine Prairie's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Bunkie, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Everything went Pine Prairie's way against Bunkie when the teams last played back in February of 2025, as Pine Prairie made off with a 13-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pine Prairie since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
