Baseball Recap: Everglades Wins Going Away Against Taravella

On Friday, the Everglades Gators made easy work of the Taravella Trojans and carried off a 9-3 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Gators.

Everglades got a big performance out of Alex Mota, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Mota is becoming a predictor of Everglades' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-6 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Eliezer Romero, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Mota wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Everglades kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive contests.

The win got Everglades back to even at 6-6. As for Taravella, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Everglades will take on ABF Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Taravella, they will challenge Providence Day at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
