Basketball Recap: Seguin Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

If Burbank wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Seguin, they should've done a better job of containing Corey Dailey. The Seguin Matadors managed a 73-68 victory over the Burbank Bulldogs on Tuesday thanks in part to Dailey, who almost dropped a double-double on 29 points and nine rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Seguin's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Lane Seidenberger, who went 7 of 9 on his way to 15 points and six boards. Those 15 points gave him a new career-high.

The win (which was Seguin's third in a row) raised their record to 11-13. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points per game. As for Burbank, they moved to 11-14 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seguin will head out to face off against Brackenridge at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Seguin has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Burbank, they will venture away from home to challenge Edison at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Burbank's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests.
