Baseball Recap: Monday's Victory Is John Carroll's 11th in Last 14 Outings

John Carroll put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Monday. They came out on top against the McDonogh Eagles by a score of 5-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Patriots also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2021.

Pierce Quinn tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Will Rhine was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Nic Stockson also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

John Carroll has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5-2 record this season. As for McDonogh, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.

Looking ahead, John Carroll is taking a road trip to challenge DeMatha at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for McDonogh, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Glenelg Country at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
